Damascus, Syria has expressed its sympathy and solidarity with the government and people of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan over the tragic floods that hit the city of Lahore, Foreign and Expatriates Ministry said in a statement on Monday. 'Syria extends its deepest condolences and sympathy with families of the victims, those affected, and the Pakistani government, wishing a speedy recovery to the wounded,' the Ministry added in a statement. Lahore, Pakistan's second largest city, witnessed heavy rainfall during three hours, breaking a 44-year record, the heavy rain triggered floods that drowned streets and lands and lead to the death and injuries of dozens of people.
