Prime Minister Hussein Arnous met today with the UAE Ambassador Hassan Ahmed al-Shehhi. The two sides stressed the depth of the distinguished historical relations binding the two brotherly countries and peoples and the necessity of building on them to enhance cooperation and open new horizons for it in a number of vital sectors, especially in light of the state of instability witnessed in the region and the world and the difficulties facing the global economy. Arnous reviewed Syrian government's efforts to revitalize the economic sector, especially the priority sectors that affect the standard of living of citizens. He also touched upon the economic, industrial and agricultural components that Syria possesses, broad investment opportunities and a skilled workforce, considering that there are many common points from which the two sides can start to activate joint work, including management, governance and the transfer of expertise on both sides in several sectors. Ambassador al-Shehhi voiced his aspiration to enhance bilateral cooperation and develop historical relations for the benefit of the two brotherly countries, pointing to the possibilities of cooperation in the fields of environment, climate, water and other fields that serve the common interest of the two states.
