Damascus, Syria welcomed the International Court of Justice ruling to order immediate temporary measures to protect the Palestinians as this ruling is the starting point for the path of putting an end to Israeli escape from punishment on its most heinous crimes it committed against the Palestinians. 'The Syrian Arab Republic welcomes the ruling issued by International Court of Justice on January 26th to try the genocide crimes committed by the Israeli entity in Gaza Strip.' Foreign and Expatriates Ministry said in a statement. 'Syria also appreciates the ruling orders to implement a number of immediate temporary measures to protect the Palestinians, top of which is to stop committing murders by Israel against the Palestinians, in addition to providing urgent humanitarian aid for Gaza Strip immediately,' the statement said. Syria stresses the necessity of exerting more Arab and international efforts at the UN, particularly in the Security Council, to give the court's ruling an obligatory power, the Ministry said. The ruling issued by the International Court of Justice required Israel to prevent and punish any public incitements to commit genocide against Palestinians in Gaza and to preserve evidence related to any allegations of genocide there.
