Vienna, Syrian academic musician Hagop Knouzi won the third place in the fourth International Gloria Artis Music competition in Vienna 2024 for the professional piano solo category. Knouzi told SANA that the professional competition with musicians from all over the world has an additional value for him in terms of challenge and determination in proving the ability of Syrian academic talents to achieve important positions in international competitions, despite the lack of capabilities as a result of the current circumstances facing the country. Knouzi began studying music at Salhi al-Wadi Institute in Damascus in 2004 and continued his studies at the Higher Institute of music moreover he participated with the Syrian National Symphony Orchestra as a soloist performing Tchaikovsky's First Concerto in 2023 under the direction of Maestro Missak Baghboudarian , in addition he won the first prize at the 9th international competition for soloists in Moscow 2023.
