Damascus, Minister of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection in the caretaker government, Mohsen Abdul Karim Ali discussed Sunday with Pakistani Ambassador in Damascus, Shahid Akhtar and the accompanying delegation of Pakistani businessmen and traders, ways to increase trade exchange to enhance joint cooperation between Syria and Pakistan. The Minister expressed the Ministry's keenness to overcome all difficulties and obstacles that hinder cooperation between Syria and Pakistan and provide facilities in this regard to serve the interests of the two peoples. He indicated the Ministry's readiness to study all cooperation ideas resulting from these meetings between the two countries, especially the idea of exchanging products according to the barter system. In turn, Akhtar stressed the need for promotion of strategic relations with the Syrian side in a way that achieves the common interests of the two countries. A Pakistani delegation comprising 21 businessmen, arrived in Syria on the 5th of the current mont h on a week-long visit to discuss ways to enhance economic and trade cooperation relations and the possibility of establishing joint investments between the two countries.
