Damascus, Higher Education and Scientific Research Minister, Dr. Bassam Ibrahim discussed Sunday with Acting Chargé d'Affaires of the Sudanese Embassy in Syria Ahmad Ibrahim Al-Hassan prospects of scientific, research, and cultural cooperation between Syria and Sudan. The minister pointed out the need for developing scientific cooperation signed with Sudan regarding scholarships, exchange of professors, participation in conferences, publishing in scientific journals, and establishing an accurate mechanism for communication that simplifies work procedures and implements them as quickly as possible. The minister gave a presentation on the education in Syria and the role of teaching hospitals in providing educational, diagnostic and therapeutic services to citizens. Al-Hassan, in turn, expressed his country's willingness to boost cooperation with Syria in all fields. He referred to the necessity to coordinate with the Syrian Higher Ministry as the education is one of the basic pillars for the advancement of society. Source: Syrian Arab News Agency
