Syria’s Jdeidet Yabous Border Crossing with Lebanon Resumes Operations

Damascus: The Syrian General Authority for Ports and Customs announced, on Wednesday, the resumption of passenger crossings through the Jdeidet Yabous border crossing with Lebanon, in both directions, following a temporary suspension earlier in the day.

According to Qatar News Agency, Director of Local and International Relations at the Authority Mazen Alloush stated that the movement of passengers resumed at noon after a brief halt. The suspension was triggered by a warning received by Lebanon's Masnaa border crossing, which called for evacuation to protect the area from the repercussions of Israeli shelling on Lebanon.

Alloush added that the number of returnees to Syria exceeded 25,000 people. Intensive organizational and service measures were taken by the crossing's administration to ensure the smooth and orderly passage of travelers.

The Jdeidet Yabous border crossing with Lebanon has witnessed heavy traffic over the past 72 hours. This surge is attributed to the return of many Syrian citizens to the country, driven by the developments unfolding in the region.
