KUWAIT – Qatar’s table tennis team won the silver medal on Tuesday at the ongoing third edition of GCC Games, following a 3-0 defeat against Saudi team in Kuwait.
At a quite different scene, the Qatar’s volleyball team secured its third consecutive victory by beating hosts Kuwait (25-15, 25-21 and 27-25) and raised up tally to 6 points at the top of the standings.
In Wednesday’s fixtures, Qatar volleyball team will shake hands with Bahrain in a crucial battle to get a closer step to the volleyball event title.
On other hand, Qatar handball team will lock horns against Saudi team on Wednesday.
In the Men’s Padel event, team Qatar opened campaigned on Tuesday with a convincing 3-0 win over Bahrain.
The GCC Games which began on May 16, feature the participation of more than 1700 athletes competing in 16 sports including athletics, 3x3 basketball, basketball, cycling (road), e-sports, fencing, futsal, handball, ice hockey, judo, karate, padel, shooting, swimming, tennis, table tennis and volleyball. The state of Qatar is represented by 170 athletes.
