Hebron-Ma'an- The Presidential Committee for Civil Peace, headed by Fatah leader Lafi, and including former minister Dr. Anwar Abu Aisha, economic advisor and member of the Hebron Chamber Board of Directors Ahmad Hassouna, and media figure Muhammad Al-Awiwi, held a meeting with the President of the Hebron Magistrate and First Instance Court, Judge Rula Salibi, in her office at the Hebron Court. During the meeting, many topics of interest to citizens were discussed, including the need to expedite the settlement of pending cases in court, and to take into account the circumstances experienced by the Palestinian people, in light of the disruption witnessed by the justice sector in Palestine due to the war on the Gaza Strip, and the occupation's practices in the West Bank of closing the entrances to cities and towns, which negatively affected the daily work of the justice sector. During the meeting, there was discussion about some legislation and laws that are in dire need of change to be compatible with the Pa lestinian situation, in addition to discussing the importance of educating citizens and motivating them to go to the judiciary and regular Palestinian courts to obtain their rights. At the end of the meeting, the Chairman and members of the Presidential Committee for Civil Peace thanked the President of the Court, Judge Rula Salibi, for this meeting and the information and extensive explanation about the nature of the work of judges in the courts and the types of courts. Economic Advisor Hassouna said after the meeting: 'It was a fruitful meeting, and we thank Judge Salibi for dedicating this time to us, and for speaking about the reality of the justice sector in Palestine. We spoke about many matters that concern all sectors, and we reassure the economic sector that justice and the Palestinian judiciary are working well despite the exceptional circumstances we are living in. We expressed our hope that these circumstances will end and life will return to normal and better than it was at the end of last year .' Source: Maan News Agency
