Doha: Three matches as part of Round 04 of the Senior Handball Federation Cup Championship 2025-2026 will be held on Monday. The round will feature Al Sadd taking on Al Arabi, Al Ahli facing Al Khor, and Al Duhail competing against Qatar SC.
According to Qatar News Agency, the following day, Tuesday, will see Al Shamal challenge the U-20 Team, while Al Gharafa will go up against the U-18 Team. This season, the championship has a new structure with teams divided into two groups. Group A is composed of Al Ahli, Al Shamal, Al Sadd, Al Khor, Al Arabi, and the U-20 Team, while Group B includes Al Duhail, Al Gharafa, Al Wakrah, Qatar SC, and the U-18 Team.
The top two teams from each group will advance to the Semi-Final stage. The tournament is taking place after a temporary halt in the Senior League. This pause was due to players joining the Qatari national team, which is preparing for the 22nd Asian Men's Championship next January in Kuwait.
The 22nd Asian Men's Championship is a qualifying event, with the top four teams earning a spot in the 2027 World Men's Handball Championship. In the previous season, Al Arabi emerged as the winner of the Senior Handball Federation Cup Championship 2024-2025, with Al Rayyan finishing as runner-up and Al Duhail securing third place.
