Doha: Competition remained intense on Friday as Round 12 of the Qatar Equestrian Tour Longines Hathab continued in its ninth edition, organized by the Qatar Equestrian Federation in partnership with Al Shaqab, a member of Qatar Foundation. Several classes were held at the federation's main arena, showcasing strong participation and competitive performances from riders. According to Qatar News Agency, the day's events opened with the Future Riders class (70cm), followed by the Open class (110cm), and concluded with the Gold class (140cm) for both individual and team categories. In the Future Riders competition, Alia Ahmed Al Khater claimed top honors aboard Fahein, clocking a winning time of 22.86 seconds. Hessa Ali Al Jaber finished second on Violet (22.97 seconds), while Al Reem Hamza Al Kuwari secured third place riding Jani (23.06 seconds). The Open class (110cm) saw Khalid Al Hadi take first place on Miss Chili with a time of 21.66 seconds. He was followed by Hazza Mubarak Al Hajri on Elio (22.26 secon ds), while Mohammed Al Talhan finished third aboard Sarina (22.51 seconds). In the junior category within the Open class, Sultan Jassim Al Suwaidi secured first place riding Cat Ballou. Shuraida Nasser Al Kaabi came second on Extra Bam, while Ali Omar Al Ansari placed third aboard Nikita. The highlight of the day, the Gold class (140cm), was won by Hamad Nasser Al Qadi on Happy Tina with a time of 30.68 seconds. Fares Saad Al Qahtani finished second riding Gaya (33.19 seconds), while Nasser Al Ghazali took third place on Heavens (33.65 seconds). In the team standings for the same class, Team Al Shaqab secured first place with a combined time of 67.06 seconds. Team Wathnan finished second (70.35 seconds, 4 penalties), while Team Al Fardan placed third (68.19 seconds, 8 penalties). Round 12 of the series will conclude on Saturday with the Diamond class (150cm), alongside the Bronze class (120cm) for individuals and teams, in addition to a Future Riders competition at 90cm.
