Doha: US President Donald Trump announced an investment of USD 500 billion to create artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure within the Stargate project. The initiative aims to significantly boost AI capabilities and employment in the United States.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Stargate project includes prominent companies such as OpenAI, SoftBank, and Oracle. President Trump stated that the project would generate 100,000 new job opportunities, highlighting its potential impact on the economy. He made this announcement during a press conference held at the White House.

During the same press event, SoftBank CEO Masayoshi Son revealed that his company plans to immediately invest USD 100 billion into AI. This substantial investment underscores SoftBank's commitment to advancing AI technologies and infrastructure.

Over the past year, major tech companies have been actively engaged in building data centers necessary to support generative AI applications. These applications include OpenAI's ChatGPT and Google's Gemini, which have increasingly become focal points in the race for AI innovation and development.
