Washington: The White House announced that a proposed ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas will be a key topic of discussion when Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu meets with US President Donald Trump.

According to Deutsche Welle, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt stated that Trump's special envoy for the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, is set to travel to Qatar later this week. Qatar is currently hosting indirect negotiations aimed at addressing the ongoing conflict.

Leavitt emphasized that the president's primary focus in the Middle East is to bring an end to the war in Gaza and to ensure the safe return of all hostages involved in the conflict.
