TTT Summit Qatar 2025 Examines Financial Crimes and Digital Transformation

Doha: The TTT Summit Qatar 2025 convened to explore innovation and digital development, spotlighting the crucial topics of financial crimes and digital transformation. A key session, titled 'Tackling Money Laundering, Sanctions, and Fraud', focused on legal frameworks combatting money laundering, underscoring Qatari legislators' dedication to utilizing technology to address financial crimes.

According to Qatar News Agency, Dr. Sheikh Thani Al-Thani, a Board Member for International Relations at the Qatar International Center for Conciliation and Arbitration, highlighted Law No. 20 of 2019 as a pivotal regulation in anti-money laundering efforts. He also detailed the responsibilities and limitations imposed on professionals to curb money laundering and terrorism financing.

Another session, 'The Future of Trade Finance: Reaping the Rewards of Digital Transformation', featured industry leaders such as Alaa Al Rousan from SWIFT, Venkata Surya Prasad Indraganti from Commercial Bank Qatar, Clyde Rosanowski from Mastercard, and Bojan Cekrlic from CargoX, discussing the transformative potential of digital finance.

In the session 'Treasury Transformation - Moving from Theory to Reality', moderated by George Tataru of Finastra, speakers like Derek Kwok of Ahli Bank, Tahir Pirzada of Al Rayan Bank, Dr. Fawad Ishaq of Doha Bank, Dr. Ghada Mohammed Darwish Karbon, and Dr. Alanoud Al Maadid from Qatar University explored AI integration, liquidity management, and legislative challenges in digital transformation.

Dr. Al Maadid emphasized the role of AI and machine learning in enhancing decision-making within financial frameworks. Tahir Pirzada discussed the modernization of systems through technology to boost liquidity performance, while Derek Kwok addressed risk management challenges during digital shifts.

Dr. Ghada Mohammed Darwish Karbon pointed out that trade and treasury transformation are closely linked to legal developments, stressing the need for legislative frameworks to evolve with sector advancements.

The session "Empowering Women - Trade and Treasury in the MENA Region" included insights from Dr. Bothaina Al Ansari, Mashael Mohammed Al Sulaiti, Maha Al Saadi, and Fatenah Al Danab, focusing on women's roles in the industry.
