Ankara: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met Tuesday with his Nigerian counterpart Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who is visiting Ankara. During a joint press conference, Erdogan affirmed the commitment of the two nations to increase their trade volume to $5 billion.
According to Qatar News Agency, Erdogan expressed solidarity with Nigeria in its fight against terrorism and discussed potential enhancements in military training and intelligence cooperation. The meeting underscored the importance of strengthening ties between the two countries in various sectors.
Nigerian President Tinubu highlighted the readiness of both nations to collaborate and foster prosperity. He stated that discussions with Erdogan focused on mutual interests, such as trade, avoiding double taxation, and eliminating trade barriers.
The meeting also resulted in the signing of nine agreements and memoranda of understanding, marking a significant step in bilateral cooperation across multiple fields.
