urkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan emphasized that the ongoing Israeli aggression against Gaza highlights the urgent need for the international community to impose coercive measures against Israel to protect Palestinian civilians. In his address to the United Nations General Assembly today, Erdogan said that in an environment where UN Security Council Resolution 2735 is not being implemented, coercive measures against Israel should be put on the agenda. He stressed that what is happening in Palestine represents a massive moral collapse, urging the international community to act swiftly to develop effective mechanisms to protect Palestinian civilians, especially as violations continue and Security Council resolutions remain unimplemented. President Erdogan also noted that international peace and security have become too critical to be left in the hands of the five nations, referring to the five permanent members of the Security Council. He pointed out that one of the most dramatic examples of this is the ongoing massacre in Gaza, which has persisted for 353 days. In addition to addressing the situation in Gaza, the Turkish president discussed several other issues, including the Russian-Ukrainian crisis. He noted that peace remains elusive as the war enters its third year. He also affirmed Turkiye's support for Africa's efforts toward peace, stability, and development, based on principles of equal partnership and mutual respect. Source: Qatar News Agency
