Turkiye President Stresses Ramping Up Pressure on Israel, Surging Aid into Gaza

Ankara: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan emphasized the importance of increasing diplomatic pressure on Israel and removing obstacles to facilitate humanitarian aid to Gaza.

According to Qatar News Agency, Erdogan asserted that the international community's demonstration of a resolute desire and capability to impose sanctions could effectively restrain Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He made these remarks during a press interaction on a flight back from South Africa, following his participation in the G20 Summit.

In his meetings with G20 leaders and during his speeches at the sessions, Erdogan highlighted the importance of maintaining the ceasefire that was achieved and emphasized the need for reconstruction efforts. He addressed the humanitarian crisis faced by Gazans and urged all nations to support the Palestinians' struggle. Erdogan insisted that countries responsible for pushing Israel to its current stance must take immediate responsibility.

Erdogan criticized the United Nations for not fulfilling its role and stressed the necessity of its involvement in future actions. The ceasefire deal in Gaza, which began its initial phase on October 10, has been repeatedly violated by Israel, with over 497 breaches and 342 Palestinian casualties, as reported by the Gaza Government Media Office.
