Turkiye's exports in August reached a record high of $22.1 billion, up 2.4 percent compared to the same month in 2023. Turkiye's Trade Minister Omer Bolat said in statements that the country's exports on a monthly basis in August amounted to $22.1 billion, noting that it achieved the highest level in Turkiye's history for the month. Bolat said that Turkish imports decreased by 10.8 percent in August, falling to $27 billion, noting that the foreign trade deficit decreased by 43.4 percent year-on-year to $4.9 billion, the lowest level in the past 34 months. He stated that in the first eight months of 2024, exports increased by 3.9 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching $170.8 billion. The Turkish Minister of Trade noted that during the same period, imports decreased by 8.7 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, falling to $225.7 billion, and that there was a decrease of $21.4 billion in imports of goods in the first eight months.
