Two Iraqi border guards were injured following an explosion that struck an ammunition warehouse west of Nineveh Governorate, northern Iraq, on the border with Syria. A security source confirmed the injury of the two soldiers, noting that the explosion occurred in an ammunition warehouse belonging to the border guards near the village of Umm al-Dhiban, within the Al-Baaj district, west of Nineveh, near the Iraqi-Syrian border, which led to two border guards being injured, and they were subsequently transferred to the hospital. An investigation was opened into the incident to determine the nature of the explosion, which was likely caused by high temperatures, the security source explained. The area where the explosions occurred is called the sixth area on the Iraqi-Syrian border, where sounds of the explosions echoed far from the area due to their intensity. Source: Qatar News Agency
