Izmir: Two Turkish police officers were killed on Monday in a shooting attack on a police station in the western city of Izmir, Turkish media reported.
According to Qatar News Agency, a 16-year-old opened fire on the Salih Isgoren police station in the Balcova district, killing the two officers instantly.
Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya confirmed the arrest of the teenage suspect, adding that the attack also left two others wounded.
Authorities have not yet disclosed further details about the incident or the attacker's motives. Security forces remain on high alert in the area following the shooting.
