Two Victories in France, England Propel Qatari Horses onto Global Racing Stage

Doha: Qatari horses scored a strong presence on the international stage with two standout victories in France and England, delivered by the filly Al Qudra and the colt Wicked. Owned by HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalifa Al-Thani, the filly Al Qudra maintained an unblemished record by capturing the Group 1 Prix Mandesha (Groupama) over 2,000 meters for three-year-old Thoroughbred fillies. The race was held at Lyon-La Soie Racecourse in France, marking the horse's third consecutive win under the supervision of trainer Henri-Alex Pantall and the ride of jockey Tony Piccone.

According to Qatar News Agency, in England, the colt Wicked, owned by Wathnan Racing, shone brightly and clinched his first victory, dominating the Starsports Handicap over 1,600 meters at Sandown Park under the training of John and Thady Gosden and the ride of jockey James Doyle. This constant shining is a testament to the high-octane performance of the Qatari horses and their capabilities of strongly competing in Europe's most premier racecourses, further reinforcing their standing on the global racing map.
