Doha: Uganda defeated France 1-0 on Tuesday in the third and final round of Group K matches at the FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2025, currently being held in Doha.
According to Qatar News Agency, in another match in the same group, Chile defeated Canada 2-1. All four teams finished with four points each, but France topped the group on goal difference, followed by Canada, Uganda, and Chile. Thus, France, Canada, and Uganda qualified for the Round of 32, while Chile was eliminated from the tournament.
In Group J, Ireland also qualified for the Round of 32 after a goalless draw with Paraguay, bringing their total to seven points, while Paraguay finished third with four points. Uzbekistan also qualified for the next round, securing the second qualifying spot from the group after defeating Panama 6-1, bringing their total to six points. Panama finished bottom of the group with no points.
In Group 9, the United States qualified with a 2-0 victory over the Czech Republic, finishing with nine points. The Czech Republic finished third with three points. Burkina Faso also qualified from the same group after defeating Tajikistan 2-0, bringing their total to six points. Tajikistan finished bottom of the group with no points.
