New York: U.S. stocks closed lower for the second consecutive day, as investors await news on tariffs and trade deals.
According to Qatar News Agency, the S and P 500 closed down 44.86 points, or 0.78 percent, at 5,605.52. The Nasdaq Composite Index also fell 158.42 points, or 0.89 percent, to close at 17,685.82. Meanwhile, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 397.69 points, or 0.96 percent, to close at 40,821.14.
