Abu Dhabi: The United Arab Emirates welcomed, on Wednesday, the announcement of the ceasefire deal in the Gaza Strip and the release of detainees, hostages, and prisoners. HH Deputy Prime Minister Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, stated that the UAE welcomes the announcement of this deal, lauding the efforts made by the State of Qatar, Egypt, and the United States to achieve it.
According to Qatar News Agency, he hoped that the deal will pave the way for ending the tribulation and further loss of life, in addition to putting an end to the tragic situation in the Palestinian enclave, stressing the importance of the two parties' commitment to agreements and obligations to end the suffering of the Palestinian prisoners and Israeli hostages.
HH Al Nahyan reiterated the UAE's unwavering position on the importance of urgently delivering humanitarian assistance to those in need in a sustainable manner without restrictions to end the critical humanitarian situation the civilians have been facing for more than 15 months.
He stressed that it is important for the international community to back all efforts aimed at reviving the peace process in the Middle East and ending the unlawful practices that imperil the two-state solution and the establishment of the independent Palestinian State, underscoring the UAE's enduring commitment to reinforcing peace and justice and ensuring the rights of the Palestinian people.
