UDST Showcases Cultural Diversity at Festival of Cultures 2026

Doha: University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST) hosted its annual Festival of Cultures, a vibrant celebration of the university's rich diversity and commitment to global engagement.

According to Qatar News Agency, the festival was organized by UDST's Student Engagement and Alumni Affairs Directorate and featured over 785 student participants from more than 25 countries, including Qatar, Jordan, Palestine, Egypt, Morocco, Indonesia, Nigeria, Syria, Bangladesh, India, the Philippines, Tunisia, Yemen, Pakistan, and Sudan. The event included a flag walk and a lineup of 15 cultural performances, showcasing unique traditions from each country. Interactive booths allowed students to share traditional attire, culinary specialties, and cultural exhibits, fostering an environment for learning and exchange.

President of UDST Dr. Salem Al Naemi emphasized the university's commitment to a campus culture of respect, openness, and collaboration. He highlighted that the Festival of Cultures exemplifies these values, promoting meaningful interaction among students, community engagement, and the celebration of diversity as a source of strength and creativity. With over 85 nationalities represented on campus, Dr. Al Naemi noted that UDST reflects Qatar's multicultural fabric, which thrives on unity, inclusivity, and shared progress.

The festival, themed "Famous Landmarks of Your Country," focused on sustainability, using recycled materials in all booths. A special awards ceremony recognized outstanding contributions, with Nigeria winning the Best Booth award in Africa, the Philippines in Asia, and Jordan in the Middle East. The Best Performance award was given to Tunisia in Africa, Sri Lanka in Asia, and Qatar in the Middle East, among other categories celebrating creativity, talent, and cultural dedication.
