New York: Secretary-General of the United Nations Antonio Guterres on Sunday called for the resumption of humanitarian aid flow to Gaza immediately, following the announcement by the Israeli occupation to suspend the delivery of goods and supplies to the Strip.
According to Qatar News Agency, in a statement, Guterres's Spokesman, Stephane Dujarric, said the Secretary-General urges all parties to make every effort to prevent a return to hostilities in Gaza. He calls for humanitarian aid to flow back into Gaza immediately and for the release of all hostages.
Earlier on Sunday, the Israeli occupation decided to suspend the entry of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip and close the crossings until further notice.
The Gaza ceasefire deal took effect in January 2025, following a bloody war the Israeli entity has been waging on the Gaza Strip since Oct. 7, 2023, which resulted in thousands of casualties.
