Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs, met in Madrid with Dr. Mohammad Mustafa, Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Palestine, on the sidelines of the ministerial coordination meeting on the situation in Gaza. The meeting discussed ways to strengthen the close relations between the two countries, as well as key regional and international developments. They also reviewed efforts to implement the outcomes of the "Bahrain Declaration" from the 33rd Arab Summit, including the call for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, protection of civilians, facilitation of humanitarian aid, and Bahrain's initiative to host an international peace conference for the Middle East, supporting the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, based on the two-state solution.
