UNICEF Allocates EUR 2.7 Million to Support Syrian Children

Damascus: The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), in partnership with Finland, has announced an allocation of 2.7 million euros aimed at supporting children in Syria.

According to Qatar News Agency, UNICEF Representative in Syria, Meritxell Relano Arana, highlighted that Syrian children have been awaiting stability, safety, and educational opportunities for an extended period. Arana emphasized that the collaboration with Finland will allow for enhanced outreach efforts to assist the most vulnerable children, including those living with disabilities and those impacted by conflict and displacement.

Arana further explained that investing in inclusive education and child protection is essential for creating a better future for the children of Syria. The UNICEF Representative underscored the importance of strong national leadership and sustainable partnerships in placing children on the path to recovery. She noted that Finland's support will empower UNICEF to collaborate with the Syrian government to fortify systems, broaden inclusive services, and ensure access for the most vulnerable children.
