Doha: The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) revealed that the Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip since Oct. 7, 2023, has resulted in the martyrdom and injury of over 50,000 Palestinian children. Since the end of the ceasefire on 18 March, 1,309 children have reportedly been killed and 3,738 injured. In total, more than 50,000 children have reportedly been killed or injured since October 2023, said UNICEF Regional Director for the Middle East and North Africa, Edouard Beigbeder.
According to Qatar News Agency, Beigbeder added that on Friday, he saw videos of charred human figurines, dismembered children from the Al Najjar family being pulled from the rubble of their home in Khan Younis. He wondered how many young males and females must be killed, and what level of horror must be broadcast live before the international community intervenes, using its clout to take decisive action to halt these killings that do not spare children.
Throughout the 20 months of genocide in Gaza, the Israeli occupation forces targeted dozens of shelters, including schools, universities, and hospital courtyards, as well as areas designated by the Israeli occupation army as safe zones. These actions killed 54,084 Palestinians and injured 123,308.
