The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) affirmed Sunday that the Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Yunis is suffering from a severe shortage of electricity and fuel, noting that the complex is operating beyond its capacity after the Al Mawasi massacre committed by the Israeli occupation. In a statement, Deputy Humanitarian Coordinator and Director of UNRWA Affairs in Gaza Scott Anderson said that the air was filled with the smell of blood all around Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Yunis following the Al Mawasi massacre after the ventilation systems were switched off. He added that during his visit to the complex, he witnessed some of the most horrific scenes he has seen in his nine months in Gaza. He indicated that the medical complex in Khan Yunis is working beyond its capacity, noting that it received more than a hundred serious cases from victims of the Al Mawasi massacre. He pointed out that many patients were treated on the ground without disinfectants. " I saw toddlers who are double amputees, children paralyzed and unable to receive treatment," Anderson said. He added that his colleagues from the humanitarian community are doing everything possible to increase medical capacity in Gaza. The occupation aircraft launched several successive raids Saturday, targeting the Al Mawasi area, which is filled with tents of displaced people, which led to the death and injury of hundreds, including members of the rescue and ambulance crews, while they were trying to transport the martyrs and injured. Palestinian medical sources revealed that the death toll from the massacre committed by the Israeli occupation forces in Al Mawasi, southern Gaza Strip, had risen to 90 martyrs, half of whom were children and women, in addition to 300 injured, some of whom were in critical condition.
