Ankara: US Central Command US Central Command announced on Wednesday that its forces struck more than 80 targets during the strikes it carried out against Iran the previous night.
According to Qatar News Agency, US forces targeted Iranian air defense systems, command and control networks, coastal radar sites, anti-ship missile capabilities, and more than 60 Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps small boats in and near the Strait of Hormuz. The objective of these operations was to degrade Iran's ability to continue attacking international commerce flowing through this critical trade corridor.
US Central Command had previously announced on Tuesday night the completion of a series of strikes against targets in Iran. The US claimed that these strikes were in response to Iranian attacks on three commercial vessels that were transiting the Strait of Hormuz.
