Doha: The US Energy Information Administration (EIA) has announced that US crude oil, gasoline, and distillate inventories rose last week.
According to Qatar News Agency, the EIA, the statistical arm of the US Department of Energy, stated in a press release Wednesday that crude oil inventories increased by 2.8 million barrels to 426.9 million barrels last week, compared to expectations of a 55,000-barrel increase.
The EIA added that crude oil inventories at the Cushing, Oklahoma, delivery hub decreased by 68,000 barrels last week. It also noted that refinery crude oil inputs rose by 211,000 barrels per day, and refinery utilization rates increased by 2.3 percent to 92.3 percent.
The EIA further said that US gasoline inventories rose by 2.5 million barrels last week to 209.9 million barrels, compared to expectations of a 700,000-barrel increase.
Data from the administration showed that distillate inventories, which include diesel and heating oil, rose by 1.1 million barrels to 112.2 million barrels, compared with expectations of a 600,000 barrel increase, indicating that net U.S. crude oil imports rose by 1.05 million barrels per day.
