Cairo: The US dollar declined on Monday, giving up some of the gains it made last week, as markets weighed the outlook for President Donald Trump's tariff policy and its potential to curb growth and spur inflation. The US Dollar Index, which measures the American currency against six major counterparts, fell by 0.2% to 99.214 points. According to Qatar News Agency, on a weekly basis, the dollar dropped by 3% against other major currencies, reaching 143.57 yen, relinquishing some of last week's gains that had exceeded 1%. The euro rose by 0.2% to $1.1372, while the British pound climbed 0.3% to $1.3489. The Australian dollar also gained 0.3% to $0.6454.
