US Extends Tariff Exclusions on Chinese Goods Amid Trade Truce

Washington: The United States has announced a one-year extension of tariff exclusions for specific Chinese industrial and medical imports, including equipment used in the manufacturing of solar-energy products. This extension is part of a US-China trade truce reached earlier this month. According to Qatar News Agency, the decision to extend these exclusions follows the trade and economic agreement announced by US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping on November 1, 2025. The Office of the US Trade Representative confirmed the extension in a recent statement. The extension affects 14 product categories related to solar product manufacturing equipment and 164 categories covering various industrial and medical products. These products include electric motors, blood pressure monitoring equipment, pump components, auto air compressors, and printed circuit boards. The tariffs, known as "Section 301" tariffs, were initially imposed by the US President during his first term in response to Beijing 's intellectual property practices. The exclusions were originally set to expire on November 29.
