The United States of America said Friday that it has granted Ukraine a USD 400 million worth of military aid, in the form of equipment and training aid. The White House explained that this new military aid aims to provide support to Kiev in its war with Moscow, and the aid package includes artillery, ammunition for an air defense system, anti-tank ammunition, armored vehicles, and small weapons that can be used on the battlefield. The new aid package to Kiev coincides with a time when Russia launched a ground attack in the Kharkiv region in northeastern Ukraine to attempt to penetrate the defense lines. On April 26, US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin announced a new aid package for Ukraine worth USD 6 billion, the largest that Washington had announced for Kiev so far. The US House of Representatives also recently approved a new aid package for Ukraine worth USD 61 billion. One billion dollars, which also includes arms shipments urgently requested by the Kiev authorities. Since the Russian-Ukrainian wa r began in February 2022, NATO countries, led by the United States, have supplied Kiev with weapons worth tens of billions of dollars. Source: Qatar News Agency
