US Undersecretary of State for Administrative and Political Affairs John Bass, discussed Friday with Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein, means to enhance cooperation between the two countries. In a meeting with the US official, during his visit to Washington, Hussein stressed the importance of strengthening bilateral relations in various fields, especially political and economic cooperation. Regarding the situation in Gaza, the Iraqi Foreign Minister expressed concern about the deteriorating conditions in the Strip and the extension of the conflict to southern Lebanon, stressing the need to intensify international efforts to stop the escalation and achieve peace in the region.
