According to Qatar News Agency, President Trump announced the tariff increase on Truth Social, stating, "I, as President of the United States of America, will be, effective immediately, raising the 10 percent Worldwide Tariff on Countries to the fully allowed, and legally tested, 15 percent level." The President emphasized that the decision was made "Based on a thorough, detailed, and complete review" of the Supreme Court's ruling. He characterized the court's decision as "Extraordinarily anti-American," expressing his strong disapproval and justifying the tariff hike as a necessary response.
