The US Department of Defense (Pentagon) announced Monday that a number of American soldiers were injured in a missile attack on a base in western Iraq. The Pentagon confirmed that the damage to the base after the attack is being assessed. US media outlets quoted officials as saying that the "Ain al-Assad" air base was attacked in Iraq. According to a statement issued by the White House, US President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris were briefed on the attack that hit the base located in Anbar Governorate, western Iraq. US forces and international coalition forces in Iraq have been subjected to numerous missile and drone attacks since mid-October. Source: Qatar News Agency
