New york: The major stock indices on Wall Street opened mixed at the start of trading Thursday. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 14.50 points, or 0.04 percent, to reach 46,570.06.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Standard and Poor's 500 index rose 6.03 points, or 0.09 percent, to record 6,705.15 points at the start of trading. The Nasdaq Composite Index also rose 6.99 points, or 0.07 percent, to open at 22,755.88.
