New york: The main US stock indexes on Wall Street opened lower today, following an inflation report that reinforced expectations of a Federal Reserve interest rate cut in September, but at the same time raised concerns about price increases due to tariffs.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 45.9 points, or 0.10 percent, at the open to 45,590.96 points. The S and P 500 dropped 12.6 points, or 0.19 percent, to 6,489.28 points. The Nasdaq Composite lost 74.8 points, or 0.34 percent, to 21,630.326 points.
