Doha: HE Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Qatar, Ashraf Khodjaev, emphasized that Qatar National Day serves as a significant reminder of the country's unification under the founder Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed bin Thani. This day is not only a reflection of Qatar's historical journey but also a symbol of unity and belonging for both citizens and residents.
According to Qatar News Agency, the Ambassador stated that for Qatari citizens, the National Day marks a moment of pride in their national journey, evolving from a small Gulf community to a state with a clear, long-term vision. For residents, including the Uzbek community in Doha, it represents a day of belonging, uniting people from various cultures in respect for Qatar's heritage and leadership.
His Excellency noted that for diplomats, the occasion is an opportunity to recognize Qatar's contributions to regional peace and development and express gratitude for the hospitality extended to Uzbek citizens in Doha. He praised Qatar's proactive foreign policy, highlighting its role in mediating global conflicts and fostering dialogue.
The Ambassador also mentioned the Doha Forum 2025's success in promoting global discourse on critical issues such as regional stability and sustainable development. He remarked on Qatar's ability to merge modernization with cultural preservation, guided by the Qatar National Vision 2030.
HE the Ambassador highlighted the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Qatar, marked by the signing of the Agreement on Establishing a Strategic Partnership in April 2024. This partnership has broadened cooperation in trade, investment, education, and more. The inaugural meeting of the Strategic Partnership Coordination Council in Doha further solidified this collaboration.
The Ambassador concluded by mentioning President Shavkat Mirziyoyev's recent visit to Doha, which reinforced the bilateral relationship and set the stage for expanded cooperation in various fields, including trade, investment, and social justice initiatives.
