Doha: Venus will reach its farthest point from the Sun in the sky at 7:03 pm Doha local time on Tuesday, in a phenomenon astronomically known as external conjunction, Qatar Calendar House reported. Astronomer at Qatar Calendar House, Dr. Bashir Marzouq, said the conjunction is one of the most important and rare phenomena, because it marks the emergence of Venus before sunrise, adding that it is an almost biennial phenomenon. Dr. Marzouq highlighted that the last time this phenomenon occurred was on Oct. 23, 2022, elucidating that the distance between Venus and Earth during this phenomenon will be 1.74 astronomical units (one astronomical unit equals 149.6 million km). All inhabitants of the Earth will not be able to see this conjunction because Venus will set approximately the same time as the sun sets during this phenomenon, but residents in Qatar and the Arab region will be able to see Venus in the sky after sunset, he outlined.
