Doha: FIFA and the Local Organizing Committee for the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025 and FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2025 have launched the registration phase for the FIFA Volunteer Qatar 2025 program, to support the two tournaments scheduled for later this year. This announcement was made during an event at the 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum, where organizers engaged with media and community representatives, inviting interested individuals to apply as volunteers for the upcoming sporting events slated for November and December.
According to Qatar News Agency, the program aims to recruit 4,000 volunteers to assist in operational activities across 20 areas, including tournament management, media and fan services, permits, and hospitality. Jassim Abdulaziz Al Jassim, CEO of the Local Organizing Committee, highlighted that volunteers have been the cornerstone of major tournaments hosted by Qatar in the past decade. He praised their crucial role, not only in operational support but also as ambassadors of Qatar's rich culture and hospitality, interacting directly with visitors and fans globally.
Al Jassim further emphasized that the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2025 and the FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2025 will heavily rely on volunteer contributions. He expressed Qatar's commitment to continuing the legacy of volunteerism established during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023. His personal connection to the volunteer movement, having begun his journey as a volunteer at major sports events, fuels his enthusiasm for the growing volunteer community's role in the success of such tournaments.
Haya Al Nuaimi, Executive Director of Administration at the Local Organizing Committee, expressed pleasure in offering Qatar's volunteer community another opportunity to contribute to the operational success of these significant sporting events. The FIFA Volunteers Qatar 2025 program seeks passionate volunteers to enhance the tournament experience. Applicants must be residents of Qatar, at least 18 years old, fluent in English, with Arabic proficiency being advantageous. Volunteers must commit to the tournament duration, attend training sessions, and demonstrate team spirit, initiative, and camaraderie. Registration will be open for two weeks, with the selection process commencing in June. Interviews will be conducted at the Volunteer Center in Lusail Stadium, with exemptions for those with prior FIFA tournament experience.
