Moldova: Voters in Moldova headed to polling stations on Sunday to cast their ballots in the runoff election to choose their next president. President of the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) Angelica Caraman announced that all 1,988 polling stations were opened, and the voting process is proceeding smoothly. According to Qatar News Agency, in the second round of the Moldovan presidential elections, the competition continues between incumbent President Maia Sandu, who received 42.49% of the votes in the first round, and former Prosecutor General Alexandr Stoianoglo, who got 25.95%. The winner of the runoff will be the presidential candidate who secures the majority of votes.
