Web Summit Qatar 2026: Cabo Verde Seeks Advanced Technology Collaboration with Qatar

Doha: HE Secretary of State for Digital Economy of the Republic of Cabo Verde, Pedro Lopes, highlighted the importance of Web Summit Qatar 2026 as a platform for the international technology community to explore advancements in the sector and leverage technology for global improvement.

According to Qatar News Agency, His Excellency emphasized the summit's role in opening the Middle East market to Cabo Verde and establishing a bridge between Doha and the African continent. He praised the summit's organization, hospitality, and the quality of discussions, noting the event's potential to foster governmental and private-sector cooperation between the two nations.

Cabo Verde aims to strengthen its ties with Qatar by participating in the summit through its startups and technology companies, seeking to build partnerships between relevant entities in both countries. His Excellency detailed Cabo Verde's initiatives to create a modern digital ecosystem, emphasizing collaboration with the private sector and opportunities for youth, including the Africa generation lab for good governance and innovation.

He highlighted Cabo Verde's significant investments in infrastructure, such as a new technology park with over $70 million in investments, strong internet penetration, and programs attracting global talent, particularly from West Africa. Representatives from Cabo Verde's private sector also shared their achievements, plans, and contributions to the digital and innovation landscapes during the press conference.
