Doha: The Government Communications Office (GCO) signed a memorandum of understanding with the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and Industry to enhance cooperation in international events and support Serbia's official participation in upcoming editions of Web Summit Qatar. Signed on the sidelines of the third edition of Web Summit Qatar, running until February 4, the three-year MoU was accompanied by the launch of a dedicated pavilion for Serbian startups, reinforcing economic and technological collaboration between the two countries.
According to Qatar News Agency, HE Sheikh Jassim bin Mansour bin Jabor Al-Thani, Director of the Government Communications Office (GCO) and Chairman of the Permanent Web Summit Organizing Committee, and HE President of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Marko Cadez signed the agreement, in the presence of several senior officials. The MoU is designed to broaden cooperation in international events and boost Serbian participation in future editions of Web Summit Qatar, enabling startups, investors, and decision-makers from Serbia to engage more actively in the global innovation ecosystem through the MENA region's largest technology platform.
HE Sheikh Jassim bin Mansour bin Jabor Al-Thani stated that the MoU underscores Qatar's focus on expanding global partnerships in innovation and the digital economy, noting that Web Summit Qatar provides a platform for linking startups with investors and decision-makers and for enhancing economic and technological collaboration worldwide. He added that Serbia's participation in Web Summit Qatar, through a dedicated national startup pavilion, presents an opportunity to showcase its technology strengths, build partnerships with stakeholders in Qatar and the region, and explore new avenues for investment and growth.
In turn, Marko Cadez expressed hope to start the practical implementation of this partnership, combining Serbia's engineering expertise with Qatar's market knowledge to achieve tangible results. Web Summit Qatar serves as a key international platform that brings together startups, investors, and technology leaders from across the globe, contributing to the advancement of innovation ecosystems and strengthening economic and technological cooperation at both regional and global levels.
