Web Summit Qatar 2026: QRDI Council Announces Technology Development Grant Awardees

Qatar: Qatar Research, Development, and Innovation (QRDI) Council has announced the winners of the Technology Development Grant (TDG) during the second day of Web Summit Qatar 2026. The award recognizes companies conducting high-impact research and development projects aimed at developing new products, processes, or services, with total funding of QAR 20 million for the current cycle.

According to Qatar News Agency, the TDG supports companies incorporated in Qatar, or international companies that establish a local entity, to undertake research and innovation projects with co-funding from QRDI Council. This initiative enables the commercialization of advanced technologies and strengthens Qatar's research, development, and innovation (RDI) ecosystem.

The winners of this year's TDG are Sidra Medicine and Snoonu, representing a diverse range of sectors and demonstrating the ambition and technical capability driving Qatar's innovation agenda.

Secretary General of QRDI Council, Eng. Omar Ali Al Ansari, stated that with the Technology Development Grant, QRDI Council is contributing to shaping the future of Qatar's innovation ecosystem. By supporting organizations like Snoonu and Sidra Medicine, these entities can develop breakthrough solutions locally that address national priorities and scale globally.
