Bogotá, Colombian President, Gustavo Petro, has affirmed that the Israeli entity is committing a genocide against the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, calling for an immediate ceasefire there. In a post on X platform, President Petro supported the statements issued by Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva that what is taking place in Gaza is a genocide. He added that his Brazilian counterpart told the truth which must be defended, otherwise 'barbarism will destroy us.' The Colombian President added that the whole region must unite for an immediate ceasefire in Palestine, and the resolution of International Court of Justice (ICJ) regarding 'Israel' must be implemented. Earlier, Brazilian President Luis Lula da Silva affirmed that Israel had committed a genocide in Gaza Strip, stressing that what is happening in the Strip is not a war, but a genocide against women and children.
