Geneva, With the continuation of the Israeli aggression and blockade, the World Health Organization expressed its extreme concern about potential epidemics outbreak in Gaza strip. There's extreme concern by WHO from epidemics outbreak that could be happening in Gaza, especially after the discovery of poliovirus in sewage water, warning from the danger of infectious diseases on people's lives in the strip, Agence France-Press quoted Ayadil Saparbekov, the team lead for health emergencies at WHO in the occupied Palestinian territory, as saying. The UN official warned that Palestinian people could die as a result from infectious diseases more than war-related injuries. WHO has reported that poliovirus (variant 2) has been found in at least six wastewater samples in Gaza, the samples have been collected from Environmental monitoring sites in the Gaza Strip.
