Winners of Al Faisal International Award for Gulf Studies Honored at 34th DIBF

Doha: The Al Faisal Global Foundation for Culture and Knowledge today honored the recipients of the Al Faisal Global Award for Gulf Studies during its official launch at the main theatre of the 34th edition of the Doha International Book Fair (DIBF). According to Qatar News Agency, organizers explained that the award was established in recognition of the Foundation's pioneering role in celebrating outstanding scientific and cultural contributions. They noted that, in light of the growing regional and international recognition of the strategic importance of the Gulf region, the Al Faisal Global Award for Gulf Studies was launched to serve as a leading international platform that honors exceptional minds whose work has deepened and continues to deepen scholarly understanding of this vital area. HE Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al-Thani, Founder and Chairman of the Al Faisal Global Foundation for Culture and Knowledge, presented the awards to the winners in the three categories: Qatari, Gulf, and International. In the Qatari category, the award was presented to HE Dr. Yousuf bin Mohammed Al Abdullah, one of Qatar's foremost scholars in political science, with a distinguished record of research and intellectual contributions on both local and international issues. In the Gulf category, the award went to Dr. Abdullah Baabood, a leading Arab academic in the fields of international relations and Gulf studies. In the International category, the honor was awarded to Dr. Gerd Nonneman, widely regarded as one of the world's preeminent scholars in Gulf studies and international relations.
